c2c Railway is advising customers to plan ahead and be flexible with their travel plans over Christmas and New Year.
c2c Managing Director, Rob Mullen, said:
“Most of our services will be running normally over the festive period to allow our customers to travel across the c2c route, but there will be earlier last train times on Christmas Eve and other timetable changes due to the bank holidays. We advise customers to plan ahead, check travel details, and stay flexible.”
c2c services: Week commencing Monday 15 December:
- Monday 15 to Wednesday 17 December: Our regular weekday timetable will run until 20:45. From 20:45 the line between Fenchurch Street and Barking will be closed and services will divert into Liverpool Street. In addition to this, from 22:45 the line between Barking and Upminster will be closed and all services will divert via Grays. Shuttle services from Grays to Upminster and from Upminster to Pitsea will run after 22:45
- Thursday 18 & Friday 19 December: Our regular weekday timetable will be in operation
- Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 December: We will be running our usual Saturday & Sunday service
- Monday 22 & Tuesday 23 December: Our regular weekday timetable will run until 22:45. From 22:45, the line between Barking and Pitsea via Laindon and the line between Upminster and Grays will be shut. Trains will divert via Grays and rail replacement services will be in place between Upminster and Grays as well as between Upminster and Pitsea
- Thursday 25 December (Christmas Day) and Friday 26 December (Boxing Day): As per annual UK standard, no services.
- Saturday 27 December: Our regular Saturday service levels will be in operation. However, due to engineering works at Liverpool Street, all c2c services will run to Fenchurch Street
- Sunday 28 December: Our regular Sunday service levels will be in operation. However, due to engineering works at Liverpool Street, all c2c services will run to Fenchurch Street
- Monday 29 December & Tuesday 30 December: Our regular Saturday service levels will be in operation
- Wednesday 31 December (New Year’s Eve): Our regular Saturday service levels will be in operation
- Thursday 1 January (New Year’s Day): Our regular Sunday service levels will be in operation
- Friday 2 January: Our regular weekday timetable will be in operation
- Saturday 3 & Sunday 4 January: Due to engineering works, buses will replace trains between Leigh-on-Sea and Shoeburyness. Please remember to check for the latest travel information before you travel www.nationalrail.co.uk
