Minor Cancellations to services on all routes

Due to speed restrictions over defective tracks between London Fenchurch Street and Shoeburyness trains have to run at reduced speed on all lines.

Impact:

Train services running across the whole c2c network may be cancelled or delayed by up to 10 minutes. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customer Advice:

What's Happened?

There are currently several emergency speed restrictions in place across the network due to the prolonged dry weather. The clay beneath the tracks has dried out and shrunk, causing some sections of track to become uneven. To keep everyone safe, trains are required to run at reduced speeds across affected areas.

How does this affect my journey?

Services are expected to be busier than usual and may be delayed or altered at short notice. Some trains may be cancelled, diverted, or unable to call at all scheduled stations while the speed restrictions remain in place.

What should I do?

We recommend checking your journey before you travel, allowing extra time for your journey, and travelling earlier in the day or outside peak times if possible. Please be aware that disruption may occur and service changes can happen at short notice

If your journey has been disrupted by more than 15 minutes, you may be entitled to compensation. Please visit www.c2c-online.co.uk on how to claim.

We're sorry for the disruption to your journey and thank you for travelling with c2c.

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on Greater Anglia services between London Liverpool Street and Southend Victoria in both directions until further notice.
